LavaLinx Social Bookmarking Exchange site review

After my backlink exchange hub here, which did not see a big success I looked into other sites which offer Social Bookmarking Exchange. LavaLinx was the only real choice from what I found and after a almost a month of using this service I can state what I think of it.

Setting up your account

This is the hard bit as there are too many websites most of which you won’t have an account so you will need a few hours to set them up. This procedure is similar to setting up the accounts for only wire and other social bookmarking tools.

I strongly suggest only using the ones that have the option Autopost marked since afterward if you do any link exchange then no action is going to be required by you to complete the exchange.

Requesting trades

Requesting trades from other websites is pretty straightforward you select the bookmarking services you are willing to bookmark their website and choose which of theirs you want to use. The other user may accept or may offer a counter proposal or may dismiss your request.

Since when I first joined LavaLinx it was during Christmas holidays my requests took a few days to be answered and almost all of them were positive.

Replying to other users trade requests

When someone requests a trade from you, you have the options stated above you may accept or may offer a counter proposal or may dismiss the request. Never did any counter proposals but all the offers I accepted were completed by the users within 24 hours since most of them chose only automated services (these are instant).

Completing the trades

Completing the trades is not difficult but may take some time if you need to do manual bookmarks of the other persons websites (a few minutes). I personally suggest you only add the autopost websites where you can complete any trade with a single click.

Quality of the webpage

The website may be a bit confusing at first but it is pretty straightforward to use if you use it for more than 10 minutes. The only problem I’ve had with the website was to complete StumbleUpon bookmark requests.

Who can use this service

Anyone with their own domain. If you have your own domain you can also choose any internal webpages you may have to be bookmarked.

Unfortunately at this time LavaLinx cannot be used for bloggers (or hubbers) which do not have their own domain.

Conclusion about the site

Really useful, really fast and reliable. If you want to do this kind of thing then this website is as good as it gets at the moment. Hopefully they will add a few more autopost websites so that it requires minimal action by the users in the near future.
