Link wheel is an SEO practice technique of creating backlinks for a webpage that in the recent years has seen a lot of success and failures.  A link wheel service is usually offered by companies and individuals at a price.

A link wheel works by an individual creating large numbers of accounts in established 2.0 websites (such as facebook, twitter, stumbleuppon, etc) and their own 2.0 websites. The only thing that the customer needs to do is only give them the link to the website they need to promote.

What these services do is post the website in all these websites and then post each new website generated by these websites(that contains a backlink to your site) again to all the other websites. The reason this technique was named link wheel was because it is going on in circles and can theoretically go on forever up to an infinite number of levels.
