Most people involved with SEO like myself do it as a part time job to earn some money on the side. The problem with side jobs is that they take up your free time and the time you wouldn’t mind doing them is when you are waiting somewhere like in a bus waiting to go somewhere or in an appointment waiting to be called in. Sadly you cannot take your PC with you everywhere you go but you can take your phone. Although Android does not have a huge range of utilities that can be used for SEO it has a few useful ones that you can use to get some work done while waiting.

As I said above you cannot take your PC with you everywhere but you can take your phone, how about if your phone could work your PC? With this Application you can access all the SEO software you wouldn’t normally have access to while on the road. Although you may experience some delay when your 3G coverage is not great it is a really useful application since you can just take your phone and put your SENUKE or your MarketSamurai to some use. Usually I am not the one for buying applications for my phone. But I have to say this is probably the best $9.99 I’ve spent in my life.

Go Daddy Mobile

Although looking for domains is standard SEO practice these days it is a work that takes time. With this tool you can look for domains for your website using this official application from GoDaddy. Loading results is fast and also offers the ability to purchase the domains. The tool also has a nice whois utility if you are interested in a domain that is already taken.

It gives you the Google Pagerank, number of pages indexed by Google, Yahoo and Bing,the number of backlinks according to these search engines and the Alexa rank. A nice feature of this app is clicking on any of the statistics will send you to the page it found it from, for example click Yahoo links will sent you to the yahoo site explorer.

Other Android SEO tools I’ve tested

SEO Stats: The free version gives some information about the website, the pagerank and the alexa rank of your website as well as the number of indexed pages. Full version also provides list of Social Backlinks and regular backlinks. A nice functionality of the program is that it stores websites and allows you to search again using a drop box. Personally didn’t find it too useful but you may like it.

SEO- Keyword Checker: Tested it and agreeably with most reviews it is not working at the moment.

SiteRank: Just gives you the Pagerank and Alexa Rank of the searched website. It also has a search history showing previous searches and their results.
